I want you to know when you said, "Its what society has "told" us, and what we have embraced" this comment was poignant.
Not just black women fall victim to what I like to call THEY. You hear individuals say, THEY say this or that. THEY say many things and we repeat those things to ourselves, we watch it play out in films, we listen to it on albums; and inevitably we fail as black women to rise to disproportioned standards. We find, however, what THEY offer, and what we have embraced, to be a false sense of well being, beauty, and spirituality.
I respect you for your thoughts...wishes...and would like to say thank you for your comments as I am always pleased with correction because it is edifying but it is truely a pleasure to be up lifted by your sister.
