I'm reading this book "Journey to the Well" by Bishop Vashti M. McKenzie. 12 lessons on personal transformation. So far I learned that every woman should have a private, personal space. Whenever you occupy your space everyone should know that they must leave you alone there; this may require up-front negotiations with spouses, children, or roommates.
The root from which the word "sabbatical" is derived means a regular time or season for rest. A sabbatical in the Discipline of the Well is a regular period of rest and reflection.
Break your five minute sabbatical into five one minute segments. The first minute is to still the body and mind, breathing slowly. The second minute is to open the spirit to communication with God; the communication is called prayer and is intimate conversation with the Divine. In the Christian tradition, prayer is ended in Jesus name. The third minute is spent listening. The fourth minute is spent reading the Well Words at the end of each chapter. The fifth minute is spent focusing your thoughts on those directives. As you grow comfortable taking sabaticals, gradually extend your quiet time. Always end your sabbatical by recording your thoughts in your well journal.
I think that this book will help me to enlighten myself while coming to a peaceful place in my life. I will keep you updated on my learnings.
